To receive the 'app' (available physical processors) column in 
lparstat output, on the HMC: 

  - Right click on the partition 

    - Select 'Properties' 

      - Go to the 'Hardware' tab 

        - Go to the 'Processors and Memory' tab 

Enable "Allow performance information collection"
